After such a great day yesterday, today was miserable! Went to sleep and slept great till about 5:30 am, then woke up with a bad tummy ache. Went back to sleep and slept like a rock till almost 1 pm. Got up, ate a cookie as I wasn't really hungry, tummy was still grumping at me, and then I dozed off in my chair for two more hours. Took a while to really get myself up and moving and think I could easily fall back to sleep. At least I hope I can and I didn't mess up my sleeping too badly. I've just been super lethargic all day and my tummy isn't happy with me.
Was supposed to try and get 3500 steps in today and I've gone a grand total of 1340. Better than I thought I would get with how the day has been, but not where I wanted to be. Hopefully tomorrow is better! It better be!
Due to not having any sort of energy, I sent Tim out for Taco Bell. I know what it does to my belly, but I sort of want that right now. Very sad, I know!
Ozzy has been very upset that we didn't get to go to the park again today, but I just couldn't do it. Took everything I had in me just to make it to the mailbox earlier today. He is currently playing with his giant clam toy he won last Sunday at Simply Paws Easter event. Thing is almost as big as he is!
Nothing else really! Hopefully tomorrow is better and I can get back to my steps and being more active!
Nighty night!

Day 10- Gorgeous day!
Today was beautiful! I just wish I hadn't been so rudely awakened before I wanted to be by the renovator people removing a fridge, dishwasher and stove from an upstairs unit! I woke to "KA-THUNK! KA-THUNK!" as they brought them down the stairs... At 8am :( I was not a happy camper. I went back to sleep after they were done. Its still taking me a bit to fall asleep, so I am ok with sleeping in a bit.
Woke up, ate a cookie, walked the dog. Fed him, made me a sammich and then chilled for a bit while I checked emails and such. Then dog started to drive me nuts, so I told him if he could lay down and be a good boy while I did dishes, I would take him to the park. He was very good and lay in his bed. I did the dishes and then we were off! We spent about two hours at the park today! I am paying for it now though! Stupid allergies! But it was fun and he had a blast. He got to see a few of his friends he hadn't seen since last summer and was super happy!
I tried to walk my goal of 3000 steps while I was there, but he found a few dogs he was set on playing with and that was it! We made it one lap and part of a second before he found his place. So he played, and I stood around talking! I did get my steps in though! Final count: 3935! Didn't double it like I had hoped, but I still went over! Woo!
Dinner was tasty, hoisin shrimp over brown rice. No veggies again, but I ate some baby carrots earlier. Tomorrow Ill hit the store and get some, maybe a nice big salad for lunch!
Im going to go take a shower soon and hope it helps this sinus headache!
So that is all for tonight!

Days 7, 8 & 9 ugh!
Not the best last few days! Sorry for not updates.
Sunday sucked, I didn't want to do anything, felt horrible and was in pain from many things and just stayed in my chair the bulk of the day. My hips were horrible, hurt to walk so bad! And I did not have enough in my budget to do the meal plan this week I had planned to do, so frustration ensued.
Monday was a bit better. I did eat better! Yay! But was still in pain, but mostly from my congested liver. Too much crap and bad diet sodas over the weekend. Not a happy person and I totally forgot to post last night, and even fell asleep in my recliner. Dinner was tasty though! Made lemon salmon with wild rice and roasted veggies! The beets were my favorite!
I also started my 30 days to 10k steps! I was supposed to do 2000 and managed to get in 3925! I'm happy! Almost double even with pain!
Today, I got up, walked to the store, feel much better today! Not so much pain, though my hips are still sore. Lots more walking than I am used to, and I apparently have uneven bone surfaces, so the tendons rub and make them hurt.
But I walked! I came home and we had tasty sammiches for lunch, then I rested a bit, then took the dog for a walk and he had fun, got to play with his friend Suko and run in the grass. I hooked him to his long leash and tied him inside and opened the door, but he was super confused and wouldn't go out without me! Silly thing!
Today I was supposed to go 2500 steps, and at the moment, with out the day even being done, I'm at 5039! Woo! I'm awesome! The gorgeous weather helps a ton!
Started detoxing my poor liver too. Taking milk thistle supplements and got some dandelion tea to drink as well. Hopefully it helps and I can get some of the nasty out of it and feel better. Do not like being in pain like this!
Currently making bad things... but sooo tasty things! Cashew butter (with a bit of peanut butter to fill in the cup) cookies! First batch done! Don't they look tasty?

I was supposed to make almond butter too, but ended up eating the almonds instead ^_^ I will have to get more and make them. I have a recipe for crackers made from the left over pulp from almond milk I wanted to dry as well! So many yummy things! Dinner will be chicken with beans and rice. Ate all the veggies last night, so dont have any for tonight sadly.
Well, bout it for today! See ya tomorrow!

Day 5 & 6 - Busy!
Hello! I missed a day but I wasnt home! I was in a car for the bulk of the day and did not get home until late and was super tired.
I have not eaten very healthy at all, and yesterday had barely any active time as it was 10+ hours of car. We got up early, and was on the road by 10am, my friend, her son and I, and we were off to Spokane. A very long drive later and some fast food (bad I know!), we arrived! We were there so Sam could visit the lady she is getting a Sheepadoodle puppy from, and pick out the ones she liked. They were the most adorable things ever!
This one decided my hand was a comfy pillow! They were so soft and fluffy and adorable! They are about 4 weeks old here and about five pounds! I wanted to bring one home! They definately dont qualify for the 20lb weight limit here!
They tired out quickly and went to sleep, so we headed out! Back in the car and off we went. Subway for dinner. Bit better than the lunch burgers! Finally we got home and went to bed early. Not that I got to sleep until 3am, but I was in bed trying!
Today we got up early again and after getting ready, we took the boy to Steel Lake and let him play at the big park there! Then it was off to the mall to play the claw games at the arcade for a while. Met up with my brother in law, Nate, and had lunch! Had Mongolian grill and it was amazing! Little guy started feeling icky and got a fever, so this evening they headed home. Now I am relaxing!
With so much activity though, I got in 7841 steps! Much higher than average! Im pooped though, ready for a day of relaxing tomorrow! You dont think about it until you do it, but being in a car for so long is exhausting! Even when not driving.
Tomorrow, almond butter, maybe more cashew butter, and possibly cashew butter cookies! Monday I start my morning yoga, the 30 days to 10k steps a day, and more job hunting. I did not get the job, but thats ok! I am not discouraged! Onward with the hunt!
And with that bit! I am off for the night!

Day 4- Interview and Friends!
Today was a good day! I was up an hour before my alarm, despite the fact that I was up late because I couldn't fall asleep. I made a breakfast scramble, took a nice hot shower and lounged around trying to relax. Then hurried off to my interview! It went great! At least I think so. I will know by the end of tomorrow if I have it or not, he had a lot more to go through, so we will see. If I do get it, I will start Tuesday.
Then came home and cleaned more in the kitchen, then relaxed. Even took a nap! A short one, but a nap! My friend Sam came to visit with her boy, and its been noisy since! But that's ok! He's a great little guy! Poor Ozzy is all worn out now! They are currently on the airbed trying to get the boy to sleep while watching Big Hero Six.
A great day!
Not so healthy in food, but I walked to get the pizza for dinner! Tomorrow I will try to do better, but really, Monday is the day I plan to start the meal plan and clean eat, as well as my 10,000 steps a day in 30 days routine. Might be a bit harder if I start working, but I will figure it out!
Also, thank you to everyone who has given me such great encouragement! It is very much appreciated and it helps tons to keep me motivated!
For now, I am getting tired, so off to play a game until bed!
Nighty night!

Day 3- Not a great one
Today wasn't so great. Set my alarm wrong when I was adjusting the settings, so it was set at pm instead of am, so I ended up way oversleeping! Not very pleased with that, and because of that very late start, I had trouble being motivated to do much today.
I did however try to eat a better lunch, still haven't gone shopping so slim pickings! I had two chicken wraps. Pretty much just roasted chicken, a bit of mayo wrapped up in a spinach tortilla. I snacked on two cheese sticks and drank a lot of water throughout the day. Dinner was a mostly veggie combo pizza.
I had to make Tim take away my spoon this evening, I couldn't stop snacking on the cashew butter! It is so good! I need to make other kinds too! I have some almonds I should try it with! I bet that would be good!
I got a call today about an interview today! That makes me happy! So tomorrow morning I go in and hopefully I can get it! Its a part time job, packing and posting eBay orders for a company that has been around since 1995. Pays pretty good too, so I hope I get it!
Cleaned up some more around the house, so progress is being made, it was just super slow today!
I'm pleased though! Even though I wasn't motivated, I still managed to walk over 4000 steps! My average seems to be around 2500 so that's pretty good for me!
Nothing else really, so see ya tomorrow!

Day 2- Fail... or Success?
Today started as a fail. I set my alarm, got to bed at a good time, and slept like a rock! Yay me! That all went well. Then the alarm went off... Here is the fail, I turned it off instead of hitting snooze. Tim came in to see if I was getting up and I didn't even respond! I was dead to the world. I was up before noon though so that's good at least!
Havent really grocery shopped, so I dont have much for lunch around here, so we had hot dogs and chips for lunch. Not the healthiest, but I am just beginning! Dinner will be beans and rice and chicken.
Also, as I was looking for snacks (ended up with carrots and ranch), I found the cashews I had gotten to make cashew butter with! They were tasty so I decided to go for it! Tada!!
Homemade Cashew Butter! Its about 500grams of raw, unsalted cashews, a pinch of sea salt, and blended and blended and blended and blended... I had to put in earplugs, it was so loud! But it is very tasty and dangerous! It was so good right out of the food processor, all hot and thick and creamy! It is currently cooling on the counter and I am trying to ignore it!
In post one, I mentioned sharing my fitbit and myfitnesspal info! I will do so now!
Fitbit- //www.fitbit.com/user/288ZQ8
MyFitnessPal- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/robyn2064
Let me know if the dont work, I seem to have trouble with linking things. Also, if you follow my fitbit page, ignore the stair counts. I wear it on my bra strap and being in the car seems to count as stairs for some reason!
Today I spent the day being productive. I have a friend visiting and so I got to cleaning! I did both my bathrooms and a load of dishes! I took garbage and recycling out. Tomorrow, I will get the rest done! Had to stop today, allergies got the best of me! Damned things!
Not much else, so see you tomorrow!

Day 1- Start!
Day one is a go!
In the first post, I spoke of how I needed to get my sleep schedule fixed and get into a routine. I took the first steps to fixing it. I stayed awake as long as I possibly could, then took a four hour nap. I will set myself and alarm in the morning and get up with it, however little sleep I manage to get.
I did my best to eat healthier today, had scrambled eggs with chives and two peices of toast for breakfast, brown rice and madras lentils for lunch, and a big chef salad of my own design for dinner. I snacked on provalone cheese sticks earlier as well instead of hunting down something bad for me, though I did eat a small single portion bag of chips.
The other thing, that which I am dreading, is sharing my body at the beginning of this trek. I did promise the pictures, as well as all my starting stats. I will start with those and pictures will come at the end.

As of today:
- Age- 33
- Gender- Female
- Height- 5' 5"
- Weight- 173.4 lbs
- Clothing size- XL in tops, Medium/10 bottoms, and 38DDD bra
- Waist- 38.5"
- Belly- 43"
If I've missed anything, please let me know!
And now, for the dreaded pictures! *cries*
In picture number one, I was sucking in my belly, so Tim had to redo take it, picture number two, and three is a side view.
Well, that should do it for today.
Thanks for reading!
Day 1- Goals
Day one on the journey to a healthier me starts at 3am! In this entry, I will set the goals I wish to accomplish for myself. I have quite a few that I need to work on. Me being up at 3am is one of those!
What is it I want to achieve with this blog? Well, I would like to keep track of getting healthy, getting into a better place physically and just generally expressing my thoughts and feelings during this time. I would like to have feed back from my readers (should I actually get any of those), and perhaps challenge or inspire them to get into the spirit of getting healthy as well.
In general, my overall goals are to loose weight, eat healthier, lower my blood sugar to try to conquer my diabetes, and just feel better! I will write about what I am trying out in order to accomplish these goals, recipes I find that are really tasty, and exercises that work for me. I am open to opinions, suggestions and ideas from my readers.
So, all that being said, my goals are as follows:

I will write about what I am trying out in order to accomplish these goals, recipes I find that are really tasty, and exercises that work for me. I am open to opinions, suggestions and ideas from my readers.
So, all that being said, my goals are as follows:
- Fix my sleep schedule! I want it to be where I am up in the morning and asleep at night, instead of the opposite, where it is now. I would like to be up at a decent hour, maybe around 7 - 8am or so.
- Get into a daily routine! I am super bad at this and have a lot of work to do to get this established. Any tips and tricks are welcome for this!
- Eat better! I need to learn portion control, count carbs better and so on, cutting out all the bad for me processed or heavily sugared foods. I already do pretty good about not using preprepared foods and meals, so mostly working on healthier diabetic friendly foods and portions.
- Get active! I am not very active and it shows. When just walking around the mall makes my body ache the next day, its time to get active! I would like to add morning yoga to my daily routines, and lots of walking to start. My little dog, Ozzy, will love this part of things! He loves walks! After I get more used to moving around, start increasing my daily activities, maybe start running or adding in an exercise routine.
- Loose weight! I want to loose 20 - 30 pounds, get rid of this belly of mine, which in the long run will help with the next goal.
- Lower my Diabetic A1C numbers! I want to get my blood sugar under control and accomplishing each of the goals I have will help me to get this done! My current numbers are far too high and I already know that I can do it with out meds if I just get with it and stick to it, I've done it before.
I am sure over the next few days, I will come up more goals, and they will all change or shift depending on how life is going at the time. I am sure I will have off days, where I just don't care, and days where I am really into all of this! I will document it all! Later today, when my husband is awake, I will get him to help me take a picture of myself and I will post it.
I warn you, it will not be pretty!
In that post, I will talk about my current weight and all the starting numbers and info's. I will also put in links to my fitbit and myfitnesspal pages, feel free to friend me on those if you have them! Please, all the encouragement I can get, I will take!
For now, I am going to go and take a nice hot shower to soothe me and help lull me to sleep, and then try and get up in a few hours. We will see how this goes!
Ta ta for now!
